Dr. Navid Farahmand is a specialist in Interventional and Chronic Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He received his medical training at the University of California, San Diego and did his Residency in Anesthesiology at West Virginia University. He did his Fellowship in Pain Management and is Board Certified in Anesthesiology.
Raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Navid Farahmand received his undergraduate degree in Psychobiology with high honors from UCLA in 1998, and his medical degree from the University of California San Diego in 2004. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at West Virginia University in 2008 where he took a particular interest in pain management.
Dr. Farahmand completed a fellowship in interventional pain management from the prestigious University of Utah where he sharpened his skills on the treatment of a variety of spinal pain disorders, cancer pain, nerve-related pain, as well as many other pain-related diseases using techniques that minimize the use of oral pain medications.
Amongst his many available forms of treatment, he has extensive experience with fluoroscopic/xray-guided injections as well as the implantation of spinal cord stimulator and intrathecal drug delivery systems.
He has been credited with lead author or contributing author of many published journal articles as well as abstracts, and has been invited to speak regionally at various conferences regarding specific pain disorders. In addition, he is an active member of several societies including the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
Dr. Farahmand is dedicated to improving the pain and overall quality of life of his patients and looks forward to building the most comprehensive and clinically successful multidisciplinary pain management practice in Southern California.
