A Spinal Cord Stimulator, also known as neurostimulation therapy, is one option for patients suffering from chronic pain for more than six months. The purpose of a spinal cord stimulator is to manage pain, restore daily activities, and decrease the need for other treatments, such as oral painkillers.
The device is delivered with a small spinal cord stimulator implanted in the skin and delivers mild electrical impulses to the spine. These impulses provide a tingling sensation to the location of the pain.
